MAITRE D'ARMES OF THE ACADEMY

This level of training focuses on the capacity to professionally manage a fencing club.  As the A.A.N. (Académie d'Armes Nationale) the A.A.F. (Australian Academy of Fencing) follows the A.A.I. (Académie d'Armes Internationale) Criteria for the Organization of Technical Training in World Fencing Academies and as such requires 600 hours over the entire course of study to become a Maître d'Armes.  An important component of the criteria is The Booklet of Maitre Training which is clearly intended to have equivilency under the "Eurocoach" program, requires the recording of all curriculum vitae, examinations and accreditations obtained. This booklet will thus become the calling card of each Maître to work in the world of fencing. The eventual goal would be a Diploma under the auspices of the A.A.N., the A.A.I.and the F.I.E.who, on the organizational chart would act for the expanding of our sport.

En Garde! The serious fencers' training diary includes an area to record details of all courses, examinations and accreditations undertaken. The En Garde! Diary truly is a must-have for every serious fencing coach!
